Answer Tones – A Most Popular Form Of Digital Music

An answer tone, also called a ringtone, is the sound made by a telephone to indicate an incoming call. The term, however, is most often used to refer to the customizable sounds available on wireless cell phones. This facility was originally provided so that people would be able to determine when their phone was ringing when in the company of other mobile phone owners.

Ringtones originally were simply monophonic. They have since improved to become polyphonic, mp3 and even full music answer tones. This has revolutionized the era of cell phone answer tones and quickly bloomed into a billion per annum industry securing its position even on the Billboard Charts!

There are many sources that are available for obtaining new answer tones. Consumers have become increasing aware of these sources and availability of real music answer tones. Some of the most popular ringtones can be purchased individually for .99 each, but a preferred way is to just download them complimentary. No credit card is required.

One company will provide 15 tones instantly, to customers of Verizon, Sprint, Cingular, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

Most people have become very choosy about their ringtones. Answer tones are a personal accessory very similar to clothing and style, and have started to become a mode of creating personal identity.

Many people want to add bling into their cell phones by changing to a different tone every week. Others will have an assortment of their 7 favorite answer tones, and rotate them daily, so that they know which day of the week it is by the answer tone on their phone!

According to the latest survey, ringtones contribute to almost one fifth of the music revenue in US. This ratio has been increasing steadily with each passing year as answer tones gain in popularity.

There are many phones available that are accompanied by different features. Depending upon your requirement and budget, you can choose them and add to your collection. Owing to the advancement of technology, increased numbers of phones are packaged with full music and mp3 support. Very soon we’ll be enjoying our digital music through answer tones that are easy to make and available via different resources.

At present, real music tones are the hottest form of digital music. We will have to wait and see the next direction that will be taken by the music industry, and if anything can be created that is more popular than the answer tone!

AT&T Ringtones – Customize Your AT&T Phone With New Ringers

A ringtone is the sound made by a telephone to indicate an incoming call. The term, however, is most often used to refer to the customizable sounds available on wireless cell phones. They are customizable because most people get tired of the default boring “ding ding ding” tone that is provided with your AT&T cell phone.

You’ve probably tried all the ringtones on your AT&T phone until you exhausted them all. Eventually you probably got tired of all the standard choices. You needed more selections, and the logical step is to go shopping for some.

Changing your cell phone’s ringer isn’t hard and most cell phones come with a few options for different tones pre-installed. You can simply change it using your cell phone’s menu if you are tired of the default setting. If you get tired of the limited choices that usually come with your phone, there are plenty of web sites that offer nearly unlimited choices. Your cell phone carrier will also have other tunes available on their website for you to download, for a fee of course.

There are many sources that are available for obtaining new AT&T Ringtones. Consumers have become increasingly aware of these sources and the availability of real music ringtones that can be downloaded instantly to their AT&T cell phone. Some of the most popular tones can be purchased individually for .99 each, but a preferred way is to just download them complimentary. No credit card is required.

Special promotions: sometimes companies from all fields including food, electronics, etc. may offer customers complimentary ringtones to entice them with their products and/or services. Coca-cola recently used ringtones for a special promotion. It is very easy to grab new ringtones this way.

Many people have become very choosy about their ringtones. They’ve become a personal accessory very similar to clothing and style. These tones have even become a mode of creating personal identity.

Still other people want to add bling into their cell phones by changing to a different music tune every week. Others will have an assortment of their 7 favorite tones, and rotate them daily, so that they know which day of the week it is by the tone on their phone!

Owing to the advancement of technology, increased numbers of phones are packaged with full music and mp3 support. Very soon we’ll be enjoying our digital music through ringtones that are easy to make and available on our AT&T cell phones.

Music Tones Ringtones-Different Ringtone Formats

Posted on 19 July 2010 by

Different Ringtone Formats

Ringtones are musical sounds that a mobile phone or cell phone plays when an incoming call or text message is received to the handset. Because the popularity and technology advantage of mobile phones over basic landline telephones, ringtones can be downloaded to a handset and used to personalize a callers ringing tone. The fact that users can choose what ringtone there mobile phone rings too, is the biggest selling point and the main purpose of ringtones popularity.

There are various different formats of ringtone, and each format of ringtone is more suited to a range of different manufacturers and models of mobile phone. Many people who purchase a mobile phone think that they can receive any type of ringtone; this is not the case in many situations.

At the moment, there are currently 5 different format of ringtones available:

RTTTL, which is short for Ring Tones Text Transfer Language, is a simple text based format that you can use to make/create ringtones that can be uploaded or transferred onto your mobile phone via various mobile phone uploading techniques e.g. Infrared, SMS, and Bluetooth.

Monophonic ringtones are very basic ringtones, most commonly found on older mobile phones such as the Nokia 3210. Monophonic ringtones are only capable of making one sound at a time; hence monophonic. Each tone or sound is created at a different frequency creating a melodic, but simple sound. RTTTL is the basis behind monophonic ringtones.

Polyphonic Ringtones are compatible on mobile phones that can produce the playing of up to 16 separate tones simultaneously. Polyphonic ringtones are slightly more musical than monophonic ringtones, but there is still no real comparison to a real life song. Most modern mobile phones support polyphonic ringtones.

MP3 ringtones also know as real tones, real music tones and true tones are ringtones that are complete emulations of CD quality music. As the name suggest, mp3 ringtones are just MP3 music files that are assigned as ringtones. This allows the user to have perfectly quality sounds coming from there mobile phone, which for the first time has allowed mobile phones to produce real life sounds such as signing and voices. Many people now download full track albums to there mobile phone and simply use the files for recreation, such as using the mobile phone as an MP3 Player, then assign the MP3 file as a ringtone. This has seen a big surge in ringtone sales as it allows consumers to kill two birds with one stone.

With today’s technology increasing and the market for mobile phone content rapidly expanding, we have seen the creation of video ringtones. Video ringtones are simply small video clips with a MP3 file assigned to play in the background, so when you receive an incoming call to your mobile phone, the video and ringtone is played. Although video ringtones have been around for a while now, they have never really become main stream and could be a new market for many mobile ringtones websites.

Mission Impossible Ringtone-The World’s 10 Most Popular Ring Tones

The World’s 10 Most Popular Ring Tones

The mobile phone ring tones industry is extremely volatile and the variety of ring tones that can be downloaded seems almost infinite. With a strong desire to make a statement through the ring tone that plays out on one’s cell phone, there is a constant latent want that must be satisfied. The want to know which is the most popular and ‘cool’ ring tone and the urge to outrace the pack in scouring and downloading the ‘coolest’ mobile phone ring tone.

Although people have different tastes and personal preferences, there is always a mass favourite. Probably, that is how the concept of a ‘Top 10 Chartbusters List’ came about for songs. And no reason is strong enough to deny mobile phone ring tones their own list of ‘Top 10 All Time Favourites’.

Almost every website dedicated to mobile phone ring tones today has its own ‘favourites’ list, and time and again several industry related professionals and experts have published reports outlining the most popular ring tones of all times, based on extensive research carried out by them. A review of these reports and trade articles highlights some of the hot favourites across genres, demographics, and geographics, which recur in most of the lists. Another important aspect that needs to be understood here is the lack of ability to chronologically rate the popularity of these mobile phone ring tones because of the absence of a universal governing body dedicated to rating their popularity. However, the world’s 10 most popular mobile phone ring tones would have to include these:

Within a few months of its foray in 2005, the Crazy Frog ring tone became a hot favourite with the masses. The unmistakable, uncanny voice makes for a perfect ring tone to break through the clutter of any kind of noise.

50 Cent’s first number 1 hit, In Da Club, has a bass line built for making heads turn. The introductory strings section lends the suspense element whilst putting high notes on top of the gutter bass line. A must download for a party animal.

Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven is probably one of those few songs of which any portion can be used as a ring tone, although the song’s introduction is more often than not used as a ring tone. The slow plucking of strings on the guitar and the serene woodwind make for an ideal ring tone composition.

All you have to be is a music fan to love this ring tone. Lynyrd Skynyrd’s southern rock classic, Sweet Home Alabama, can completely turn around a party’s atmosphere with its country and classic feel.

And here’s one for the game freaks. Super Mario Brothers’ Game Theme. Originally composed as a polyphonic ring tone, this one is now available in the MP3 format as well and is an exact replication of the track from 16 – bit Nintendo. Are we surprised?

‘Ring’ in the festive season with the Halloween Movie Theme. Popular with movie buffs and those that wish to delve in the festive spirit.

The Next Episode’s pulsating G – funk guitar and thumping bass outscores other poorly composed hip – hop ring tones. Dr. Dre sure has scored well with this one.

This movie has had its sequels, but the OST’s are still raging strong. Mission Impossible’s Theme Song, is like wine. With age it just keeps getting better. An ideal one for your excruciatingly demanding boss at your workplace!

Techno fans here’s one exclusively for you. Da Rude’s Sandstorm has always been a chartbuster; and the polyphonic and MP3 ring tone compositions are nothing short of party – starter tones.

The Jetsons were extremely futuristic and hence it’s only apt for their theme song to have become popular for a technologically advanced gadget such as a mobile phone enabled with a MP3 ring tone player.

Is it possible to create your own customized t mobile ringtones?

When I was a kid, mobile phones used to ring with simple sounds that were dull and unpleasant. The only purpose was to make the mobile phone user alert for any of the incoming calls. Now after so many years, the whole scenario has changed. Music ringtones and wallpapers have become the heartbeat of people. Especially youngsters love to have all the latest ringtones and other customized ringtones in their mobile phone.

The old mobile phone beep has consequently changed into monotones lead by polyphonic ringtones and then voice tones, true tones and much more. Most of you might be purchasing ringtones through different cell phone service providers or downloading it from the internet.
But have you ever think of creating a ringtone by yourself. Yes, it is all possible with new ringtone software and tools in the market.

Software such as ringtone converter helps you to create, add or edit music to your favorite songs or sound files and record them. You can really create a ringtone of your choice including music tones, cool ringtones, funny tones, spoken voice tones, holiday tones, birthday tones, jokes tones and other unusual sound tones. Apart from ringtones you have a choice to create wallpapers, mp3 ringtones that could be outstanding with your creativity.

What do you require for using ringtone converter software?
You need to download this software and a mobile phone to which it has to be used to. This software runs both on Microsoft and Apple- MS platforms. It has many features and also a ringtone composer. It is used to convert RTTL (Ring Tone Text Transfer Language), Midi and other sound files in the format so that they can work with your mobile phone. It doesn’t require any cables, infra red connections, sms and premium rate phone calls.

You can use the built in search facility of the ringtone converter to find out 1000’s of RTTL tones which are then used by the ringtone converter to store tones. The windows version of the ringtone converter allows you to convert midi files into RTTL that you can use with your mobile phone later. When you want to have modern pop songs which are usually in RTTL format you should take care that it is subject to copyright laws. Once you have got the ringtone in your mobile you can easily save it in the menu by saving it the ringtone directory as .txt format. Next time when you will start the mobile and enter ringtone directory, it will appear in the drop down menu.

True Tones – Nothing beats the original

Why is it that a premium value is placed on items that are original creations? Why first-time experiences are never forgotten? Our musical culture shares this same sentiment. In this digital world where imitation or replication is inexpensive, effortless, and instantaneous, it is a delight to rediscover such original favorites and re-live memories through music.

Thus, the creation of True Tones. True Tones are a compilation of ringtones as they were first heard by the public. Original voices. Original instruments. All ages. Across cultures.

Music Tones Ringtones-Downloadable Ringtones – The History of a Phenomenon

Posted on 09 June 2010 by

Downloadable Ringtones – The History of a Phenomenon

Ringtones are the sounds cell phones make when a person calls the cell phone subscriber and have truly become a phenomenon and the most popular of all mobile accessories. It is interesting how modern technology has considerably advanced from the first types of downloadable ringtones that were available way back when.

The first commercial cell phone with ringtones, the Digital Mova N103 Hyper, sold in May of 1996. It had a just few preset songs in MIDI format, a high quality audio file format. Then in September of 1996, came the first cell phone, the Digital Minimo D319, where a user had the option and could input an original melody for a ringtone, rather than just a few preset songs.

The first downloadable mobile ringtone service was created and delivered in Finland in 1998. A Finnish mobile company started a service called Harmonium that delivered monophonic ringtones. Harmonium was a true innovator because it had tools for both individuals to create monophonics, and a mechanism to deliver them over-the-air via SMS to a mobile handset.

On November 1998, Digitalphone Groupe started the similar service in Japan. Later came polyphonic ringtones that were more advanced than the monophonics because they were able to play about 40 notes at a time and sounded more like the actual song they were playing. Neither of these though was able to truly mimick the songs, and could not play lyrics.

Real music tones, also known as, voice tones, music tones or MP3 tones were first introduced in December 2002, and have revolutionized the downloadable ringtone industry. In contrast to the others, real music tones are actual MP3’s downloaded to a mobile phone as ringtones and so they deliver the true music experience with tones and lyrics.

My Gift to You by Chemistry was the first song to be distributed as a truetone music ringtone. Real music ringtones spread like wildfire, through Europe, Asia and of course the US. It is fascinating how many people have personalized their cell phones with their favorite music tones.

Polyphonic downloadable ringtones are still available today, all though they are not as widely used as real music tones. Polyphonics are mainly used for older cell models as it is mostly newer models that are capable of downloading and playing real music tones.

With the huge advancement in technnology today, anyone with a newer phone model can download their favorite music tones by simply entering their cell phone number into an online order form and get the music instantly downloaded.

And, today, real music downloadable ringtones allow people to get the hottest and latest tracks within any genre of music, including, pop, hip hop, country, rock, jazz and classical and they are available with almost every different mobile phone carriers and many cell phone models.
